Malaspina Labs’ Always-on VoiceBoost Suite Now Available for Cadence HiFi DSP Cores

Feb 14, 2014 — Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS) and Malaspina Labs today announced the availability of Malaspina’s VoiceBoost™ suite of phonetic speech enhancement technologies for the Cadence® Tensilica® HiFi family of DSP (digital signal processing) cores. The VoiceBoost suite includes ASR (automatic speech recognition) assist audio preprocessing, speaker-dependent and speaker-independent low-power voice activation, and noise reduction solutions. The HiFi Audio/Voice DSPs provide an ultra-low power hardware platform for SoC (system-on-chip) designers to implement this software. Cadence and Malaspina Labs are scheduled to demonstrate the VoiceBoost suite of solutions in Hall 6, Stand 6L36 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 25–28, 2014.

The HiFi Audio/Voice DSP provides an ultra-low power engine to offload these tasks from the main CPU.”

VoiceBoost speech enhancement solutions enhance voice communication and interaction in a wide range of environments including vehicle interior and street traffic noise, background conversations, and background music noise. VoiceBoost solutions are scalable in MIPS, memory and latency from under 10 msec to over 100 msec to meet the requirements of a broad range of applications including bone conduction, telecom and human machine interfaces.
