USB Type-C Port Controller

The Cadence® USB Type-C™ Port Controller IP is compliant with the USB Type-C™ Port Controller Specification. The controller is an essential part of a USB Type-C subsystem that enables USB Alt-Mode as well as Power Delivery support over USB Type-C connector. Compatible with most of available software stacks, our IP is perfectly applicable in new generations of customer devices – tablets, Chromebooks™ and set top boxes. 

Targeted at the emerging USB Type-C connector applications that make full use of USB Power Delivery 2.0 and Alt-Modes, the Cadence USB Type-C Port Controller IP provides the necessary functionality to enable Type-C connector support, Power Management IC control, and support for USB Type-C Alt-Modes.

The interface of the Cadence USB Type-C Port Controller IP complies with I2C Interface specification for standardized connectivity with an external MCU, or an ARM® AMBA® APB interface when integrated with embedded controller or main applications processor.
