Audio Offload

Cadence® Tensilica® HiFi DSPs handle much of the audio processing in today's smartphones, from simple MP3 downloads to processing complex immersive sound for games that support 32 or more simultaneous audio streams. Speech Offload

Want a phone that uses the lowest power, yet still listens for your voice? Our HiFi Mini Audio/Voice DSP is ideally suited to the task, with the lowest power always-on capabilities. Overall, speech processing has become much more complex, with the requirements to perform pre- and post-processing tasks like noise reduction, volume leveling, dialog clarity, volume boost, and spatial expansion. Voice and speech recognition requirements in smartphones are outpacing battery technology, so efficient algorithms on an optimized DSP can make a tremendous difference. Other Radios

Advanced handsets have multiple air interfaces. WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS are usually implemented as separate subsystems consisting of both an embedded control CPU and one or more DSPs in the PHY and MAC layers—and our ConnX brand DSPs and DPUs can be used for both layers. Sensors

Cadence Analog IP and Tensilica DPUs are perfect for low-power sensor applications. We can easily perform the A/D and D/A conversions necessary, and with the highest degree of accuracy. Look to Cadence IP solutions for control and signal processing for biometric sensors (fingerprints), accelerometers (motion), noise level, gyroscopes (compass), and more. Security and Decryption

Implementing software algorithms in a customized DPU makes it much more difficult for the chip to be pirated. Digital Rights Management (DRM) features embedded within commercially distributed music and videos require complex encryption/decryption.
