Audio

There are several ideal places for Tensilica DPUs in entertainment systems. They are currently used for DTV demodulation, video playback, and graphics for games and menus. Also, our HiFi Audio DSPs provide the audio playback and HD digital radio. See our Audio, Voice, and Speech section.

Radios

Tensilica’s DPUs are used in popular Bluetooth wireless systems to provide safer hands-free cellular communications. Tensilica DPUs can also be used to provide important signal processing in GPS systems. Our HIFi Audio DSPs are used for audio playback and speech recognition. Security

Implementing software algorithms in a customized DPU makes it much more difficult for the chip to be pirated. Tensilica Xtensa® processors provide a programmable solution. With our Xtensa processors, even as standards evolve, you don't need to re-spin the chip.

Sensors

Cadence Analog IP and Tensilica DPUs are perfect for low-power sensor applications. We can easily perform the A/D and D/A conversions necessary, with the highest degree of accuracy.
